C1940s inspired longline corset girdle inspired corset constructed from a single layer of soft sand coutil with zip front fastening. This corset is designed to offer a gentle reduction and could be worn underneath C1940s period clothing or as a foundation garment
NOTES ~ This sample was made as a mockup (toile) to test a pattern inspired from a 1940s corset girdle. There is no waist tape to inside.
There is a very slight mark/ scuff next to zip panel - not hugely noticeable. I haven't attemped to remove it but could possibly be cleaned off.
Zip and centre front bones extend the full length of the garment. The spiral bones around the side panel finish at the hip point allowing for some ease of movement
(As the zip/front bones go the full length you may have to perch on a high chair to sit)
DETAILS
- Constructed with 12 panels (6 per side) finishing low over the hip and bottom.
- YKK silver zip closure at the front and 18 sets of eyelets for lacing at the back.
- Cotton bias binding on the upper and lower edges..
- Boned modesty panel behind busk with wide 2cm underbusk
- Features internal boning channels from twill tape single row of spiral boning finishing at the hip point.

- Waist ~ 29"
- Hip ~ (3.5" below waist) ~ 34
- Hip ~ (8" below waist) ~ 37"

SIZING
This corset could be worn with a 1-2 inch lacing gap and is designed with a gentle reduction. Ideally would suit someone with a natural waist size - 32-34" with hips at widest 38-41"
